I may have another shot at trying to get a better matching set. This time, I'll not do one, then try to get the other to match. Instead, I'll work on both at once, so that if I don't like a pattern/texture on one, I can quickly change it for both. Getting one the way I wanted it then trying to make the other match was way too frustrating.

Well, I also found myself in the same situation... making the male after I dione the female skin and it is a week or so since I did it also.

But since I thought too large flowers was not soo king looking I made that pattern smaller and it looked ok...

So here is my Red Winter clothing for a King!

He matches the Red Lady I made in the other tread.

Susanne

He's gorgeous, madoria! I think I want to take him home............

No, really, I meant the winter skin is gorgeous. You've hit your skinning stride again, big time. thumbsup

blush Thank You Bruja !!!
I am so glad you like him !

I have had a cold with a soar throath for a week now and I haven't been doing anything creative at all this week...
just shuffled around files in my game and putting files on a Yahoo group so it was nice to sit down with PSP7 and just do some skinning.

The head is a fusion of the Manwe mesh and a bmp from Tojah: George...happy accident... laugh

These skins are really, really good. I'm wanting to make a neighborhood with an ancient/pre-islamic persian theme, and some of these will help a lot with that. Now, if only I could find a male head or skin with one of those tall, cylindrical hats, or a female head with a veil...

Also, sorry I can't contribute anything. I've pretty much never made a skin.

EDIT: Oops, I didn't look at the date.

Well these challenges are always open, so, you know. And it's never too late to try skinning!

Pre-Islamic Persian? Like Xerxes, that kind of thing? Hmmm....

I have thought about it. Are there any tools I should have, to make it easier?

Yes, but not like Xerxes as he appeared in 300 or anything laugh . Mostly Achaemenid, but sort of an amalgamation of Achaemenid, Seleucid and Sassanid eras. Unfortunately I haven't found much for it, and so most of what I'm using now was made for islamic, egyptian and greco-roman themes.

Here's a link to the companion challenge, Winter Lady Paint by Numbers http://www.simblesseoblige.com/viewtopic.php?t=5927

It provides a step by step process to making a skin, including telling you which programs you need and where to get them. If you're using a pc and have a graphics program that supports layers, you can turn out some very nice skins in a matter of hours.

Then once you're comfortable with the tools, you can move on to making your own from scratch. smile
