Oh, I love the bubbles!
The bubbles are short lived, popping after a short time, and the animation in them is random so they did not quite suit what I the wisps to do. Both can be modified, obviously, but the roaches had more animation frames already and they also gave me a guide ... again I can't draw animation myself ... as the roaches loop around in a swarming pattern. Since I was going to need to re-hack whatever base I used anyway I let the graphical aspects of the roaches be the deciding factor.

In the end my 'glow' did not work because of the way the game handles the alphas (the same would happen on any base - its purely graphical) and the swarming pattern was, unfortunately, too recognizable ... bringing it's own "yuck" into the equation. laugh

The bubbles were one of the bases I considered for fireflies though (possibly with some flower bed or ground cover being the object that spawns them, allowing the player to control where the firefly activity was. I never decided if I, as a player, would prefer them clustered in one area or if I would prefer they pop up randomly all over the lot. The latter I think but if the ground cover is generic enough IT could be placed randomly all over the lot for the same effect when thats wanted or clustered when that is wanted.) OK, Enough of me babbling about all of that muckity muck ...

I'm so keen (in a no pressure sorta way!) to see your birdbath. It promises to be quite wonderful! Fabulous idea.
