Fabulous story and nicely Gothic!! I love how you brought the neighbours in not just for Phil, but Cassandra's friend. You really made it seem like a little community and Phil seeing Mortimer's life. Love the cemetary picnic and the funeral parlour.

Very cool! You did a really nice job setting up a realistic looking morgue/body prep area. I'm impressed. biggrin

And, a picnic in a cemetery? I love it! Glad to see I'm not the only deranged Mac Simmer around here. laugh

Thank you all for the kind words! I had fun making the story, although I did have to cheat a little here and there because not all my lots look OK from every angle yet. :)

And there are some pictures I would have liked but couldn't get - like Phil going down the pool slide (he's too darn fast) or the kitties on the C&C "Fun Frame". :) Gotta love the pets sliding down the pole. :)

Also, the fridge in the body prep area is an actual fridge, and my Sims kept going back in there to get bags of chips. I personally would have lost my apetite on the threshold, but not Phil. I spend hours getting him away from that fridge and also dragging him away from the two pianos when he should be eating hamburgers. :D

Yersinia, I think "deranged Mac Simmer" is probably a tautology. biggrin

Awww, Karin, if only you had snapped a picture of Phil eating the chips in the body room! OMG! floorlaugh

This coming weekend is when I'll be getting underway with my own very special brand of "deranged Mac Simming." Yup. My entire weekend plan, beginning Friday night, is to start building the place I'm sending Phil to, finally, and hopefully get started on the journey. I always save my "big" Sim projects for weekends, so I can get totally absorbed and not have to worry about such killjoys like having to go to bed at a reasonable hour so I can get up for work the next day!

I really did enjoy the trip you sent Phil on, even if he didn't have any snacks in the body room!

~Yersinia.

OK Simmers,

It took me all day yesterday to build the lot, and all night to storyboard it on paper first, then play it/take the pictures (it was 1 AM when I went to bed), but, I did it!

biggrin

Twenty years ago, I worked for a corporate group travel incentive company as word processing operator/desktop publisher (that's where I met that Mac Plus and got spoiled, in fact), and in a fit of needing to vent, I "let it all out" by writing a total spoof of their travel proposals. That is, I co-opted the format and type of verbiage they used, and used it on a destination nobody would ever want to go -- and I left it on the desk of the Director of Marketing. It got passed around the company and by the end of the week, I ended up being promoted to copywriter (!!). So, when I found out that this challenge didn't require sending Phil overseas (which I couldn't have done, since I don't travel or know nearly enough about to build any kind of lot for a trip of that nature), that's how I got the idea to do what I just did, which was to take part of that spoof proposal and send Phil on one of the tours I included as part of that "vacation." So, Phil spent some time in my neighborhood!

Phil arranges to go on the tour by calling the proprietor, Michael Bachelor!

Phil, being intelligent and well-traveled, prepares to get underway.

Phil may be dressed appropriately for where he's going, but he had no idea of all the contingencies he should have prepared for....
