You've heard of the Roaming Gnome? We have the Traveling Sim!
Meet Phileas Fogg the Fourth (otherwise known as Phil). He's the great grandson of the famous Phileas Fogg who went Around the World in Eighty Days.
Phil would like to travel and enjoy adventures just like his ancestor but he needs your help to do it.
Simply download Phil's .fam file into your game, take him on an adventure of your making and post the screen shot links in this thread.
This is your chance to show off a favorite lot or household by having Phil visit. You don't have to make an entirely new lot for him unless you want to.
Your gift for being Phil’s host is a set of vintage travel posters. These posters work with any ep. They are 4-rotation, read correctly from either front angle and are entirely invisible from the back angles.

There are a few rules for participants:
1) You may not hurt, maim or kill Phil.
2) Phil's travel adventure should be illustrated in at least five or more screen shots. (Ideally, please link to the thumbnail page of your Photobucket or Picture Trail account. Remember some of our members are on dial-up.)
3) Time travel is definitely allowed.
4) You may use photo tricks and "move-objects" to adjust your screen shots but try to keep this to a minimum. We want him to have a real adventure on one of your lots. Feel free to add captions or dialogue on your screen shots to help tell the story.
5) You can use any type of lot for Phil's adventure; Vacation, Downtown, Old Town, Magic Town, Studio Town or Residential. The more exotic, the better!
6) You may change Phil's clothes, especially if you have an outfit that better suits the location or time period.
7) Post your entries here and be prepared to answer WCIF questions in a special thread in our Sim Sleuths Forum.
Once you're done, you can download your participation gifts from here (okay, well, maybe BEFORE you're done too):
http://simblesseoblige.com/viewtopic.php?t=2723
This is an ongoing challenge and you may enter more than once.

Phil Fogg's .Fam file comes in two versions.
The housed version gives you Phil living in a basic Maxis-furnished house on lot 4. The unhoused version will simply show up in your "Create a Family" screen so you can move him into a house or lot of your choice.
Both of these .fam files were created with TS only and should be compatible with any game combination. Phil comes with maxed skills and a comfortable amount of cash but no special interests (remember, he was made with TS only). You can change his interests and add cash if you need to.

Put the .Fam file of your choice in your UserData/Import folder and click the Import Family button at the top of the neighborhood screen where you want Phil to show up.

I am a little late, but there is another participation gift for this challenge. It's an all-surface 1 tile dresser disguised as one of those old fashioned leather gladstone bags.

Oh goody! I get to go first!
Here's a link to the thumbnail page of my Phil Fogg Photobucket:
http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/Eradia/Phil%20Fogg/
The photos should be viewed in order to get the story.

Excellent! I really enjoyed this. biggrin

Just one question, though, about the challenge itself: why does the traveling sim need to be Phil Fogg, instead of one of our own sims that we send off traveling and taking pictures of?
