Here's mine!

This is a (buyable) cradle with baby.
It's a sorta compromise between "deco only" cradles and buyable babies, allowing sims to play with, sing to and feed the babe without it ever growing into a child.

I'm still working on the insides a bit but wanted to show the outside now. :)

I just love that--plus, when it's all done, I already have a bunch of matching things to make a nursery for my Sims. How nifty that you chose the spring texture. thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup
I have always thought that the babies should remain babies longer.

It not only looks lovely, it's the perfect texture for that cradle. Very clever! thumbsup

Than you so much for this! I've always wanted my babies to stay babies for longer than a few days! Well, now its eternal, but I'd rather have a baby forever than a 9 year old...

Thank you all for the wonderful comments!

My plan was to make a second version that allows the child to grow up but I've not thought up a (graceful) way of doing it. I want something a bit more "in game" than a "Grow Up" option for the player to press but that's probably going to end up being the way I go with it. Since I planned on doing this, I did leave all of the necessary coding in for the baby to become a person (with the exception of the player naming the Baby) so now I am thinking I might be able to make another object that "grows baby up" and any of the cradles cloned from this will actually turn into a child some day. But so far all of that is Ifs and Maybes. It all depends on whether I set the insides up properly (I wont know for sure until I start making it and testing it)

The texture was a great deal of fun to work with. As I am not an object maker I was not sure how it would go, I confess laugh I was a little afraid that I would end up slapping any ole thing together and have a mediocre cradle but once I started working with the texture it was actually quite a lot of fun. It was interesting keeping the colors (mostly) while not losing the base cradle's highlights and shadows and I fancied myself incredibly clever for figuring out how to bend the fabric around the cradle's hood without it looking distorted.

The Make-A-Knight and the Spooky Bookcase Challenge had the same effect. These challenges have been quite good for me. They have me sit down, break out of my normal routine and give me a good bit of fun I would have missed out on otherwise (I always seem to be "tossing graphics together" for hacks and don't end up having the same type of fun that I have with the challenge entries)
