I'm new to making objects for the sims 1.

I have been wanting to make some decorative objects for the sims 1, but i can't figure out what tutorial to follow for that.

Most of the tutorials i came across are a bit dated and the links to what you need to make the objects have expired, but does anyone know how i can make objects for the sims 1?

i have done it for sims 2, and i know it's completely different because sims 1 uses sprites. I didn't really need the sims to interact with the objects at all, but just to walk around them, so they don't walk threw them at all... i hope that made sense.

does anyone have any recommendations? :)

Sims 1 is an old game.

The tutorials are dated because, well, the game is dated at this point.

Basically if you just want to swap sprites T-mog and your favorite art program are you best bet.

I think someone knows the angles you can put a camera at to generate sprites from 3D models... but that someone is not me. laugh

Use T-mog to clone an object that functions the way you want (deco).
Ensure it has a unique GUID

We usually use a magic cookie for that.

Export the sprites using T-mog, change the graphics, import again using T-mog. Also change the buymode name, description and price using T-mog

If you use Blender 3D for modeling your objects, then you can use the FreeSO Sprite Exporter to generate all of the renders/sprites you need.

@Damon Rhys' blender template has the 4 cameras set up in the correct angles. I imagine the X/Y/Z could all be copied into other programs and then fiddled with to ensure hey are the correct distance if the other programs don't have any documentation on the subject anywhere.

Bunny Wuffles has some old tutorials that are still helpful in learning to use the programs, as well as some Z templates that are very useful (in her tutorial kits.)
