Okay, I tried several normal-ish Maxis houses first and I just couldn't make them work. So I decided on a 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' philosophy and so picked the absolutely hideous locale of 7 Sim Lane. I filled it with super obnoxious 70's style bright colors (though there is an inexplicably tasteful patio/grill set).
I suspect it is the local swingers' hangout. The bathroom pretty much has no privacy, and there are an awful lot of couches...

Now I know why sunglasses were so popular in the Seventies...
That is FANTABULOUS! love the patio furniture in wrought iron. Blue in the kitchen so WORKS! I didn't think anything could offset that tangerine. And the pink couches in the sitting room, I want! uncomfortable, covered in snitchy nylon jersey and perfect for a certain Sim and his new wife. Oh, and the bedroom ones in purple. Is the bathroom Parsimonius?
Totally totally splendicious! _________________ http://www.simechoes.org

Excellent job! It's a tough one, isn't it? But you managed to make the furniture blend beautifully. I like your "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" philosophy! |

Holy COW you did a good job on that living room/kitchen. You even made the Numica counters work! _________________

Wow. Looks great! It just amazes me how people can make the basic game things look so good in a house. Something I never seem to be able to do. _________________ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

I'm looking around the neighborhood to see if there is another house that might need some sprucing up. |

That's one of the 2 Maxis houses I ever used much. You've done a far better job of furnishing it than I ever did, in my wildest dreams. _________________ "Do not anger a bard, for your name is silly and it scans to 'Greensleeves'." (I loved it so much I had to steal it) |

nice challenge mars, I remember my CC main disc wouldn't work and all i had was my spare sims 1 no eps disc and it was horrible not having any of the other things from the other eps as well as no cc at the time!
And what with those houses being so ugly with all that mismatching furniture too.
I really like the living room, very african looking,
I think you did well considering the fact that you couldn't change the walls, floors etc!
I might do this myself, I have been creating like a demon for halloween and i need to have fun, I think i will have a go at some of the contests!
I like your bright fun house too , you made it fun and not so boring! thalia.
I like ours too tiffany, you did a really great job, I like the living room/kitchen area! I like those colors together, very calming!
Great job everyone. Those were fun to look at. _________________

Is there a time limit on these challenges?
Despite being a Sim1 fan forever, I have ONLY JUST found this place...Unbelievable.
After ep's, running a neighbourhood, designing homes, playing T&J at moonsims...I've been looking for summat to add more depth to my Sims experience. This is just the thing! |

Definitely no time limitations. Basically most of our challenges are just something to do when you need inspiration. I look forward to seeing yours! |
